Children have an unparalleled sensitivity and resourcefulness that adults cannot even imagine. The youngest must be protected, it is true, but adults often underestimate their immense capacities.
In the face of an emergency, for example, a 10-year-old girl was able to stay calm and manage to deliver her mother. Thanks to the agent’s precise instructions over the phone, the little girl succeeded where so many adults would have failed. Her irreproachable behavior was naturally rewarded.
Miracle Moore is a 10-year-old girl who performed a small “miracle” by helping her own mother give birth. The little girl called 911, the number for all ᴇᴍᴇʀɢᴇɴᴄɪᴇs, when she realized the situation called for it. The mother had gone into labor three weeks earlier than expected and needed immediate help. Fortunately, the 911 operator was a true Scott Stranghoener and calmed the young girl and, thanks to his calm and precise instructions, was able to deliver the woman.
“Miracle followed all the instructions given to her over the phone, and when her mother was uncooperative, she raised her voice, doing the ‘mommy voice’! When baby Jayla was born, Miracle was there with a towel ready to dry her face, help her cry, and keep her warm until the paramedics arrived,” they said.
“I immediately understood that we had a serious situation,” commented Scott, the ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴏʀ. “We have a set of protocols that we follow, and she followed all of my instructions to the letter and did an amazing job,” he concluded.
The mother also claimed that Miracle’s presence was a miracle, because after giving birth she didn’t have the strength to hold the baby, but luckily Miracle was there for her: “She dried her off and rubbed a little back so she could cry. So she helped me a lot. I’m very grateful to her.”
Miracle was rightly rewarded for her courage and absolute composure: qualities that we are sure she will pass on to her younger sister!
