The happiest day of the couple’s life ended in a ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ ᴛʀᴀɢᴇᴅʏ. However, Diego Rodrigues did not allow this ᴘʟᴀɢᴜᴇ to determine him or his family’s life. He clung desperately to his faith to find solace.
Diego Rodrigues, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was ready to do anything for his wife and their unborn twins. But all his efforts seemed in vain.
Larissa Blanco, 24, wanted to be a mother more than anything in the world. And she was finally delighted and expecting twins. The children were born on June 27, 2020.
Rodrigues remembered the moment the first baby was born: “She saw that wonderful little face, and I was really emotional. That was her dream.”
As magical as the day was, sadly, because Blanco had contracted ᶜᴼⱽᴵᴰ-19, it ended in a way that no one could have imagined.
After both babies were born, the mom ʟᴏsᴛ her life due to a ʜᴇᴍᴏʀʀʜᴀɢᴇ and ᴄᴀʀᴅɪᴀᴄ ᴀʀʀᴇsᴛ. Nevertheless, the dad with a broken heart somehow managed to see some rays of light in a horrible situation.
“I am distraught. I can’t get her out of my head, but I know God has a plan for our lives,” he said.
Rodrigues’ faith and his love for his sons, Guilherme and Gustavo, helped him get through the darkest times – and he tried to become the father figure his late wife had imagined.
