A Couple Who Were Parents Of Two Boys Welcomed Quintuplets After Trying To Have Their First Girl

Megan Hulen, from North Dakota, USA, became pregnant with five without resorting to ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs and welcomed four daughters and a son in September of last year.

After giving birth to 7-year-old Jacob and 2-year-old Matthew, the Americans decided it was time to try one more time. In the past, Joshua and Megan had had to resort to ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs, so the news of the natural pregnancy had already been a big surprise.

“I started to feel really weird and I thought there was no way I was pregnant, since I had never ᴏᴠᴜʟᴀᴛᴇᴅ without the help of a ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ,” Megan said.

But life would have even more surprises for them, because when they performed an ultrasound at five weeks, they discovered that not only was one baby on the way, but five. The sʜᴏᴄᴋ was so great that Megan was in sʜᴏᴄᴋ the rest of the day, crying and thinking about the possible ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟɪᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴs of a pregnancy with five babies.

However, remembering the stress she experienced due to the difficulties of her first pregnancy, she decided that it was best to do her best to relax and try to live each moment of the pregnancy in the best way.

“I started taking photos of my belly every week and I celebrated those small advances,” she added.

At 32 weeks pregnant, Megan gave birth to her five siblings via C-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ. Fortunately, all five babies were delivered well, and the delivery was so quick that Megan was amazed at how quickly they were delivered one after the other.

The happy family of seven is already at home and has overcome those first weeks of practically not sleeping at all, while they continue to try to find balance in the precious chaos they now live in.

“We are very excited and happy to have a great family. It is bigger than we planned, but we are very blessed and feel very happy about this,” said Megan.
