When Maxine and Jake Young, from Reading, Pennsylvania, married, they agreed they wanted at least five children.
There was only one problem with this: Maxine, who has ᴘᴏʟʏᴄʏsᴛɪᴄ ᴏᴠᴀʀʏ sʏɴᴅʀᴏᴍᴇ (PCOS), was unlikely to get pregnant without medical intervention. After being inspired by a friend, they decided to become foster parents.
However, it soon became clear that it was a shame to worry. While they were receiving their foster care permission, Maxine found out she was pregnant. When the three brothers, Aiden, Parker, and Connor, came to them, Maxine was carrying their own child, Henry, under her heart.
“Not even a month passed when they called that there was a fourth brother and asked if we could accept him too. I wanted to keep them together. They have already experienced so much,” Maxine said.
So soon the fourth brother, Elliott, also joined the family, and Henry was born, so the couple already had five children. And in December 2019, the brothers were officially adopted.
The Young couple has a very good relationship with the grandparents of the adopted children.
“We are very close to them. This is a very important relationship. Kids can ask them questions we may not know the answers to. We are very grateful to have this connection with their biological family,” Maxine said.
Everything seemed to go according to plan, but life had one more surprise in store for them. Maxine found out she was pregnant again.
Henry was ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ with ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs, and the couple never thought Maxine could get pregnant without help, but they seem to have been very wrong.
Maxine gave birth to four babies in July. Theo, Silas, Beck, and Cecilia are the newest members of the family, and the couple already has nine children under the age of eight living with them.
Although Maxine admits that there is sometimes chaos in their household, everyone is doing well.
“It’s actually a lot easier than I thought,” says the young mother. It also helps a lot that older kids love little ones. “They want to keep the babies in their arms all day. Life is Beautiful,” Maxine added.
